Polaris ATV Question about the tranny

Does anyone know if polaris is still having trouble with their trannys in the atv's? My 2005 500 ho the tranny only lasted 145 hours and needed a complete rebuild and it still shifts pretty hard. I overall like the atv, but dont want to deal with any issues if i buy a new one? any info would be great.
